Changing Dial-up Numbers

 

Windows 95, 98, ME

  1. Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop
  2. Double-click the Dialup Networking icon (ME users must double-click the Control Panel icon first)
  3. Right click the mouse on the dialup connection that you wish to change, then select Properties from the drop down menu (this will be the bottom entry)
  4. Delete the telephone number currently displayed and type in the new dialup number you wish to connect to. (Note: Do not insert your OWN telephone number)
  5. Click OK

Windows 2000 and XP

  1. Click the Start button and select Settings (XP users should select Connect To and then click on Show All Connections)
  2. Windows 2000 users will need to select Network and Dialup Connections
  3. Right click the mouse on the dialup connection that you wish to change, then select Properties from the drop down menu (this will be the bottom entry)
  4. Delete the telephone number currently displayed and type in the new dialup number you wish to connect to. (Note: Do not insert your OWN telephone number)
  5. Click OK

Changing Your Username ***To Access Expanded Numbers ONLY***

 

Windows 95, 98, ME

  3. Double click the mouse on the dialup connection that you wish to change.
  4. Delete the username currently displayed and type in the username in this format: username@localline2.com (ex.: If your username is johndoe, then you would enter johndoe@localline2.com.)
  5. Click Connect to initiate your connection (without connecting, your changes will not be saved).

Windows 2000 and XP

  1. Click the Start button and select Settings (XP users should select Connect To and then click on Show All Connections)
  2. Windows 2000 users will need to select Network and Dialup Connections
  3. Double click the mouse on the dialup connection that you wish to change.
  4. Delete the username currently displayed and type in the username in this format: username@localline2.com (ex.: If your username is johndoe, then you would enter johndoe@localline2.com.)
  5. Click Dial to initiate your connection (without connecting, your changes will not be saved).
